About Us

Pylon Electronics, a Canadian company, was incorporated in 1955 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Turan of Toronto Ontario. Pylon Electronics has shown consistent and financially stable growth for over 60 years.

Our policy of significant investment in people and products ensures a distinguished reputation for quality in the services that we provide.

Pylon is comprised of two business divisions: calibration and repair services, and instrument manufacturing.

Instrument Manufacturing Division

The Instrument Manufacturing Division is an international leader in the design and manufacture of Radon and Thoron gas detection and measurement instruments and reference sources.

In addition to providing service and application support for these core products, the Instrument Manufacturing Division also provides custom design and manufacturing services for a variety of applications.

Calibration Division

The Calibration Division provides comprehensive calibration and repair services for a wide variety of test and measurement equipment including electrical, physical property, dimensional, and fibre optic instruments.

With laboratories in Ottawa, Dartmouth and Mississauga to serve you and highly skilled employees processing a high volume of instruments per month, it can be said that Pylon is the largest Canadian owned provider of calibration and repair services.

Pylon Electronics in the Community

Pylon feels that it is important to support the community. Each of our locations has supported and continues to support the community in many ways.

Pylon takes pride in supporting our personnel who take the time to be involved in our local community for fundraising, volunteer work, etc. We strive to provide work time flexibility to our employees so that they can work on these important tasks.

In addition, Pylon also makes financial contributions to local organisations and charities.

The following list provides some examples of the local organizations and charities that Pylon has supported over the past few years: LiveWorkPlay (LWP), Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation and Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation.

With several business regions across the country (Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto), Pylon actively contributes to the well being of local business community. Wherever possible, Pylon develops business relationships with local suppliers to support these businesses.

We also attempt to support our customers and local suppliers for activities such as golf tournaments, barbeques, Christmas parties, etc. – especially when these activities are used to support the local community at large.

An important aspect of our work involves keeping abreast of the latest trends and technologies that advance the science of metrology. To assist us with this task, Pylon has been an active member of the NCSLI (National Conference of Standards Laboratories International) for many years.

The NCSLI allows Pylon to keep in touch with individuals and businesses that are involved in metrology including our competitors. This is a small community and we share all the same challenges associated with the science and quality requirements of metrology. Over the years, Pylon employees have served in many positions within the NCSLI organization including regional coordinators, national coordinators, etc.
